My September Ipsy Glam Bag! :)

Hey ya’ll! I wanted to share my glam bag for this month from Ipsy. Unfortunately, this will be my last glam bag. I’ve been with them now since November of last year and it’s been fun being introduced to new companies, new makeup and new fashions.

But enough of all of let’s get to the pictures! 😀

This is it! Here is what I received for my last month with Ipsy for the month of September.

I'm not one to use heat on my hair that often but I will keep this close by to try it out in a few months or so.

This lippie is in the color "One Night Stand" (why do they have to make the names so ... smutty?) and is a pink color. I don't really like the color pink when it comes to lippes. I prefer darker, deeper colors, so this will be going to my mother.

I love how City Color made this their own and placed their mark on it. Very nice!

Now this last picture is what I got from using the Ipsy points. The Doll10 is a creamy blush that allows you to build color, which I like. The small pink tube is a lip gloss from Tarte Cosmetics. It has a nice smell, kinda like vanilla or cupcakes. And lastly is a felt tip eyeliner from Starlooks Pro in black. Felt tips makes it easier to apply the eyeliner to get that perfect wing. Felt tip is also great for beginners too. ^_^

Here is the selection of extra goodies that I got using my points. And to think that it had only taken me since November to get it. :/

Whelp, that’s it! I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the random Ipsy glam bag posts! Boxy Charm, maybe?! *wink wink* 😉

Ipsy Glam Bag August 2015

Okay ladies, let’s talk about the Ipsy Glam Bag for this beautiful month of August. As I mentioned before, Ipsy is a monthly bag that you buy for 10 dollars and they will send you 4 to 5 items according to what you picked on your personal quiz. You get 3 to 4 items that are full and a couple samples/ traveling size ones, at least I do anyways.

Here it is! This is what I got for the month of August.

Here it is! This is what I got for the month of August.

Since this month is just about gone the sneak peek for the September bag will be available soon. With that being said, lets get into the August Glam Bag now that I have a chance to actually give a somewhat decent and honest review.

1.) I wasn’t too thrilled about this months bag only because there were a few items that I didn’t see myself using. First up is the OFRA Cosmetics Lip Liner in the color Wine. I love any kind of lip liner really so that was pretty easy. This a gorgeous deep burgundy color that goes on smooth and has a beautiful matte finish. Looks wonderful on any skin tone and it compliments my own as well.

This color is so pretty!

This color is so pretty!

2.) Next up is the La Fresh Group Good Night. Night Cream. I’ve already received this one before in one of my glam bags last year. I do like the moisture but the smell isn’t my favorite. I feel that it does what it says and helps keep the face hydrated throughout the night but to really see a difference in your skin I think that this product would have to be used for more than a week or two. Other than that, it’s not bad!

Love the feel, not the smell.

Love the feel, not the smell.

3.) Now we are onto the Hikari Cosmetics Lip Gloss. I’m not a fan of lip gloss at all. If I could rewind time about 13 years, I’d be all over this but lip gloss is too shiny for my taste. The color that I got was Salsa and it is a very bright, in your face red. I love the color, just not the shiny bit. Even though I’m not fond of the gloss, I do however, like the Hikari company. I got a few items from them through Ipsy and they make decent good quality cosmetics. So I suppose that is better than nothing! 🙂

Everyone do the Salsa! That is if you like lip gloss.

4.) On to the hair. Lord knows that I have some thick and sometimes unmanageable tresses. When it comes to my hair, I already have my own regimen that I try to follow no matter how tedious it might seem. When I get hair products from Ipsy I don’t use them, I give them to my mom or a friend. But what I did get this month was Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC)  leave in conditioner that is 100% vegan and vegetarian. The amount that you get is 2 FL.oz. and let me tell you, that it is not enough for me and my head full of natural hair. Thanks for the thought anyways Ipsy. NEXT!

I love that this product is 100% vegan and vegetarian. ^_^

5.) Lastly is the Glamour Dolls single eyeshadow in the color Sorcery. I think that this one is my favorite item from this bag. The color is gorgeous and has a beautiful shimmer to it. The coverage is awesome and it can be used for any occasion. It’s also goes on very smooth and feels soft too. While I do like this color I kinda wish that Ipsy would send something with a little bit more…oomph. So far now I have 3 or 4 single eyeshadows from several different cosmetic companies in this shade.

Love this color!

Love this color!

That was what I got this month, hope that you got what you wanted and if not I hope that you tried something new and liked it. What awaits us in the next glam bag is a mystery (for now)! Stay tuned for Septembers glam bag! 😀

Ipsy Glam Bag June 2015

Hay guuuuurrll! 😁

Today on display I have the Ipsy glam bag for the month of June (in case you didn’t read the title) and I must say that I got some pretty cool things. ☺

Ipsy Glam Bag for June 2015

Love the bag, it's super cute ☺

I get 4 or 5 items in my glam bag for the month and most of the time they are a hit or miss with me. So I think that I will start with the least favorite item and work my way to my favorite one. Gotta save the best for last!

Firstly, there is this. I’m a black woman with very kinky, coily, very thick natural hair. I’m not too fond of getting random hair products in my glam bag since I already have my own regimen. At the current moment I’m using Cream Of Nature (CoN) hair products along with Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) and this works for me. This product has keratin in it to give hair the strength that it needs. It’s also a daily cream. Now, if you are a natural hair sista like myself, then you will know that a small sample tube isn’t enough for someone with a lot of thick curls. A dime size is literally the whole dang bottle depending on the size of that bottle of course. And I think that hair products require more time to use to determine if your hair really likes the product. At any rate, it smells good!

The next thing on my list is this here – the Dr. Brandt vacuum cleaner…for your face! What this is supposed to do is clean out the black heads from where ever they were located at. Simply wash your face as usual, pat dry and apply a thin layer of the product on to your problem areas. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes or until product turns blue and then wipe with warm, clean washcloth. I’m going to assume that this would need multiple use before seeing any positive results. I didn’t notice anything but then again, I wasn’t paying attention. 😂 This kind of product it cool but it’s not something that I enjoy getting from Ipsy.

Next up is the J.Cat Beauty lippie. Ladies, I don’t know about this one. I like the J.Cat Beauty brand, I really do but I do not like the color or the gloss either. I feel that  the color is too bright for me although it looks good on other females that are my shade and tone. As for the gloss, I just don’t like glossy, shiny lippies. It makes me look like I’m drooling or something. I prefer matte lippies over glossy any day. Gonna have to give this a 👎thumbs down and see if my mom wants it as she likes these kinds of colors. 😕

Now we’re turning our eyes to this! This is one of my favorites. It’s a mini eyeshadow crayon from trèstique  in the color venetian gold. This color is GORGEOUS, ya’ll! The pencil itself is about 2.5 inches long including the cap and when you twist he product up, you’ll get about 1 inch of this beautiful eyeshadow. This creamy crayon goes on super smooth and has a shimmery effect. The color is perfect for a base with the use of eyeshadow or alone. Makes for a great nude look as well. Bravo trèstique! 👌

And last but not least, I received the smashbox photo finish foundation primer. I was super excited to see that I was getting this in my June glam bag as I’m kinda in the market for a decent foundation primer. Currently I’m using Laura Mercier oil free foundation. The Laura Mercier does a fairly decent job keeping my t-zone matte and not looking like a 70 disco ball but it’s not perfect. Now as for the smashbox primer, this is supposed to make those pesky pores less noticeable. I’m hoping that I will get some good results with this as I’m still searching for a good foundation primer. We shall see! 🙂

That’s all that I got in my glam bag for this month. I hope that I have introduced some new items and interest to/for you. It’s always fun trying new things to see what’s works best with your body chemistry. I’m also hoping that one or more of these products will be a real winner. ✌

Not For Only One Crowd

This is your girl coming back at you with just a really quick, really super duper fast post. I wanted to be clear and make sure that we are on the same page and in a way, we already are.

When I started this blog some four years ago I only had one targeted audience that I wanted to get through to and that was the female population of Muslims. At that time I was homeschooling my son (and still do) and wanted to share my ideas that we did together at home. In a sense I’m still trying to target that same audience but I wanted to make that audience bigger than that. I figured that I’d try to reach out to the female population as a whole. I’am and we are women, are we not?

This time around I didn’t want to cut out a huge chunk of women because they are not Muslim. My blog and my posts are meant to be helpful to all females from all walks of life. I want to share my ideas, likes, dislikes, experiences and whatever else with the ladies of the interweb.

**Now, (black lady finger waving time, haha) if you aren’t a Muslim female and like my content, that’s great! That’s what I’m going for. If you aren’t a Muslim female and don’t like my content, that’s great too! If you don’t like that I wear hijab or pray to Allah, that’s fine. You don’t have to. You don’t have to like everything that I like or dislike. I just ask that you try to remain positive in your comments if you make any.

*If you are a Muslim female and like my content, that’s great as well! If you are a Muslim female and don’t like my content, that’s also great! As I said before, you don’t have to like what I like. But with both of us being Muslim females, we both should practice the “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything”. Honestly, I have been looked down more from Muslim women than I have non-Muslim women. Sad, ain’t it? Some people are quick to give “advice” to someone without even knowing the whole situation. And some of those people are even faster to make themselves feel like they are in a higher place than the other because they gave that “critical” advice. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t advise people, not at all. What I’m saying is that if you don’t like that I post about this kind of makeup or that kind of high heels or this kind of fashion then I shouldn’t post about it at all.

***This blog is made out of my own likes and dislikes, experiences, up’s and down’s and is made to cater to all women regardless or race, religion, personal preference, whatever. I’m not trying to stick to one specific type of female but instead all women. If there is something that displeases you because of your personal tastes, know that it was something that was pleasing to me first and you don’t have to like, share or follow me.

🙂

Ipsy Glam Bag May 2015

Ok, today I will be going over one of the most sought out subscription bags on the net, Ipsy. If you are not familiar with Ipsy, Ipsy is a monthly subscription bag that has goodies for the beauty enthusiast and beginners for 10 dollars per month. Ipsy was founded by Michelle Phan who also created the cosmetic line called “em”. When you arrive at the site you will be directed to subscribe for 10 dollars a month. You will also take a quiz that will help shape your monthly bag. Once you’re off the wait list, you will be charged 10 dollars that following month and then you’ll be well on you’re way to receiving your first Ipsy glam bag, yaaay! ^_^

So, with that being said I wanted to share with you what yours truly got today for the May glam bag! ipsy2015

The Urban Decay 27/7 Glide On Lip Pencil works nicely. It keeps the lippie that you are using in place, for me at least. The color that I got was in “Ozone”. I guess because it goes on clear idk but I do know that I like it. They actually sent a bonus with the Lip Pencil and it was 2 small sample sized of Urban Decay Revolution High Color Lip Gloss. I received the colors “bittersweet” (it’s like a bright and loud purple) and “failbait” (soft pink) http://www.urbandecay.com/revolution/UD522.html. I really liked the colors but I’m not a fan of lip gloss so that was kind of a bummer. BUT that doesn’t mean that I can’t give it to someone that will use it! 😀 http://www.sephora.com/24-7-glide-on-lip-pencil-P219001

I wasn't feeling this gloss, ya'll. :/

The next goodie is one of my favs for this month and that is the BellaPierre Gel Eyeliner. Omg you guys, this stuff is like buttah! Goes on super smooth and easily and it’s a plus that it’s a waterproof eyeliner as well. Bravo! http://www.bellapierre.com/shop/eye-liner.html 20150516_140814[1]20150516_140757[1]

Next in line is the Nuxe Facial Cleansing and Makeup Removing Gel (long name, I know). I really like this facial cleanser. It smells nice, kind of like a soft perfume and it gets the job done. I was having a little bit of a rough time getting that BellPierre Eyeliner off because of it’s waterproof formula but this makeup removing gel took it off with no issues. Ipsy was one step ahead on that one! 🙂 http://www.amazon.com/NUXE-R%C3%AAve-Cleansing-Make-Up-Removing/dp/B004MZSFN8

The next item that it my absolute favorite for this months bag is the Luxie Beauty Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205 (another long name!) This brush is perfect for getting into the crease of the eye and really blending it out. The brush is super smooth and soft and cleans easily. I’ve received a few brushes from Luxie Beauty through Ipsy and I love every single one. I’m something of a brush hoarder I guess. http://www.luxiebeauty.com/luxie-rose-gold-tapered-blending-eye-brush-205/

And lastly there is the Bare Republic Naturals Face Sunscreen Lotion. -_- I’m not quite sure what I think about this one. I love the fact that Ipsy sent a sunscreen because as we all know, it’s important to protect yourself from the sun but I can’t get over the smell. It smells kind of like mustard. Yeah, it sounds weird but that’s what it smells like…a mustard sandwich. But at any rate, I DO love that it has a SPF 30 cuz ya’ll know that when the sun comes out and the day is nice, most people want to get outside and do something. This stuff is good to have around, if you aren’t sensitive to the smell. http://www.target.com/p/bare-republic-mineral-face-spf-30-1-7oz/-/A-16576945

I would actually buy all of these items (even the sunscreen) because they are of good quality. I can’t wait to see what next month holds!
